At Pawsitively Dental we believe that there is a safer way to have your dogs teeth cleaned. We offer an anesthetic -free option to manage and maintain your dogs dental health. 

 

The owner and operator of Pawsitively Dental comes from a background as a Registered Dental Hygienist with years of training and experience working on human patients. She has adapted a program custom tailored to offer a safer way to perform canine dental cleanings. This is not your typical groomer or pet shop level of canine dental cleaning. Pawsitively Dental offers extensive knowledge in periodontal disease, tooth anatomy and oral conditions. These skills can only be attained through formal and accredited dental hygiene training and certification. With continued education and training in the latest techniques, procedures and products in dental hygiene Pawsitively Dental offers a unique approach. Our understanding of how these can be adapted to suit our canine friends for an overall improvement in their dental health and wellbeing is what sets us apart.

 

Some breeds of dogs, especially the smaller breeds are at higher risk for complications due to introducing anesthetics into their systems. Conditions such as collapsing tracheas or in some breeds the risk of their heart stopping are candidates for anesthetic free dental cleanings. For our older canine companions there is an even higher risk, and many in fact can no longer be placed under anesthetic to have procedures like teeth cleanings done.

All staff at Positively Dental have years of experience in canine training and behaviour. We utilize relaxation techniques to gain the cooperation of  our canine patients so that they do not have to be put under anesthetic in order to get a teeth cleaning. All services provided are considered hygienic only, we do not offer teeth extractions.
